The Q's needed the EL style 3rd rail ro remain on the center former express track to allow them to be removed under their own power, via the center express track, north to Gun Hill Road and connection to the White Plains Rd line, in various groups, to eventually by reverse moves, make their way south to E. 180th St, and eventually (and THATS another transfer story !) to BMT Coney Island Shops to be overhauled for BMT Myrtle Ave El service. Down to Linden Yard, reverse to go north on the Canarsie line, through Broadway Junction, up the Jamaica line, over the bridge, through the Nassau St loop and Montague tunnel, then any available route to Coney Island? Must have taken a whole day! :) |
