Third.Packed trains are a sign of a healthy economy. Back in the 1940s, people complained that the subways were too crowded. LaGuardia remarked that the day the subways had enough room for everyone during rush hour was the day that NYC would be bankrupt and a receiver would be sitting in the mayor's chair. |
