I was in first grade at a - you guessed it - Catholic grade school. They played a news byte over the PA system with (I believe) Frank McGee stating that, "President Kennedy is dead." Our nun clasped her hands in prayer and muttered, "Dear, dear, dear." My mother remembered that Walter Cronkite actually broke down during the CBS Evening News. |
