I am aware that the lame fools on the "art commission" forced Dupont because of the potential bridge across Rock Creek.The depth of Dupont has nothing to do with the bridge over Rock Creek. The tunnel to the north of the station ascends up to pass over the Lydecker Aqueduct before descending back down to pass under Rock Creek. The station platform is at its depth because it was cheaper and faster to tunnel under Dupont Circle then to demolish and rebuild the Connecticut underpass to make the station 40' closer to the surface.
