So why can't IRT cars of the next generation have passageways like B division cars? What do IRT clearences have to do with passageway safety?? Car width should not be an issue. Neither should car length. B division cars with their longer length & overhang had to be far more dangerous than IRT cars. Folks have walked between IRT cars for generations without any more protection than connector chains & lived (99% Ill guess) to tell about it. So with a passageway, it should be safer, no?
Where am I wrong??
