Back when it was Buffalo-based Marine Midland, it was a nice bank. But HSBC eventually got the worse customer ratings than Capital One, the 2nd worse on the scale I saw, and that takes some effort.I was once 20 cents short of a full CC payment. They charged me whatever interest rate it was on the entire balance, 30 days worth, which was about $6. I called them to take it off, but they would not. I told them I will shut down the account if they do not. They would not budge. I wrote a poison later to cancel the account. Then they took the charge off, but did not close the account. I never used it again. They shut the account down after a year of no use. |
