Posted by Express Rider on Thu Apr 28 21:41:53 2016, in response to Re: South 4th St, posted by Renee gil on Thu Apr 28 14:37:30 2016. The tour of S4 I was told about/saw photos of, did include visiting this closed section of the full length mezzanine above the G's Broadway station.Photos did include views of wide double stairways (maybe triple wide?), as you might expect for such a large transfer point, from the street, down to some point along the walls of this now closed mezzanine area. I do not know if, or how, this mezzanine was or would have been designed to connect to any mezzanine above the S4th St. platforms Any details on the full length mezzanine/wide stairways provided by someone who has bben there would be welcomed. Thanks. - This was a private, non museum, tour maybe aroun '90 -'91 (?) arranged with the MTA for a small group of people. It may also have included a visit to the Utica St. subway shell (seen shapshots of this) and mid mezzanine there as well. |
