Slow Friday at Sagniaw, TX

Traffic is way down on both the UP and BNSF, the latter with 6,000 employees currently out on furlough. Total U.S. weekly rail traffic of carloads and intermodal units is down 10% compared to this time last year.

Saginaw is a BNSF yard about 20 miles north of Ft. Worth. Approaching the yard from the south is a former Trailer Train storage yard that is full with BNSF units in storage. I'd estimate there were about 4 dozen there, some of which can be seen here. Note the difference in paint schemes and lettering:

I hung around just past the north end of the yard for an hour and saw only one local, led by a pair of BNSF SD70MACs in the old BN Executive (Grinstein green and cream) livery, passing in front of the huge ConAgra elevators:

I believe the first car behind the engines may be carrying aircraft parts but can't say for sure.
