Uh, no McGinty. That is not what happened.

Risely gave me keys to the museum - not McGinty. When McGinty learned that, he posted in his "secret-secret" FB page that he will not allow a non-trustee to have keys to the museum. He was so jealous and upset that he said that if I don't immediately return the keys TO HIM I will be excluded from the group.

I said to him, Risely gave me the keys, not you. So if she orders me to return them, I told him, I will return them DIRECTLY to her. NOONE ELSE. And that's what happened. No keys went missing due to me. Risely kept several sets of keys and she gave me a set of keys to several things on the property.

But what happened was that one of the other members, Arjun, also took his own set of keys from her office when he saw that I had received keys. That was the missing set. I made him return them. McGinty saw his chance. When I refused to knuckle under to his bullying, he said that I had taken that missing set! He didn't punish Arjun. However, ALL KEYS were returned to the president with my cooperation and from my instructions to Arjun.

In hindsight, this is what I should have done: either refused the keys, or deferred to another volunteer. Or applied for a trusteeship, which requires a board vote, unlikely with McGinty there. I was still friendly with Garces and Pagan then.

Anytime someone offers you something, that is a red flag.
