The reason I stated that 18 was not an appropriate cut off was due the high correlation between education and beliefs. If going to college and post graduate education was such a strong influence in determining beliefs, it is inappropriate to choose an age cutoff where some of the respondents have not yet has the opportunity to go to college or take post graduate courses. That was my point.On the other hand if the results would have shown a low correlation, then 18 years of age would have been a perfectly appropriate cutoff. |
