The R62A cars were built in Barre VT. They were shipped on flatcars. I used to see them passing through Pittsfield, MA on Conrail. They were usually right behind the locomotives because the railroad was concerned about vandalism and hoped the train crew could keep an eye on them. Of course that still doesn't provide a lot of security with 5 engines between the crew and the first car.
