The R142 cars were also delivered by rail on flat cars from Plattsburgh NY to Fresh Pond Yard in Ridgewood Queens, where they were ramped down to track level and then hauled south along the LIRR/NY&A Bay Ridge branch to Linden Blvd where there is a ramp connection to the IRT New Lots Line at Livonia Av. Maybe the R179's will be delivered the same way, except they would be hauled north along the Canarsie line from Linden. |
