Caltrain says it has reverse commute parity. My own anectdotal experrience coming north in PM rush from Palo Alto was a very full train until we got to 22nd St. The tech buses are generally newish.
The experience of the tech workers does extrapolate to the extent that they drive the rental market in SF and desirable parts of the East Bay.
