NIMBYs never seem to learn. When staten Island residents complained about the noise form the traffic along the SI Expwy, walls were erected to muffle the noise. Some of the residents when interviewed then complained that with the walls up, they could no longer check the expwy for traffic congestion before getting on and finding themselves in a traffic jam instead of having the option of taking local streets. Be careful what you wish for. You may get it and it just may not achieve the desired result. |
