The subway allows the LIRR to focus on Nassau and Suffolk. For #2: realying on water crossing is hard enough. Now imagine how often the bosts have trouble with the weather. the system getting larger than what a rapid transit system is really intended to be UM, who made you the judge of how large the subway system should be? If it runs fine, which is does (barring hurricanes), then what's the problem? there are longer subway routes in other cities. The Central Line and District Line in London off the top of my head. |
