Certain uuterborough branches can be added without a manhattan trunk. The extension down Utica Av is an example.Presently, most #4 service terminates at Utica while #3 service goes to N/Lts. A Utica Av branch would allow #3 service to operate down Utica while #4 service can operate to N/Lts all without the addition of a Manhattan trunk line.
