A mockup pulling smoothly into a station? Why? The number is in IRT style and position; I suspect they used an unused number so the car couldn't be ID'd, like using those stupid 555- telephone numbers in movies.

As to the route signs, the train was supposed to be going to Coney Island, so mocking those up and hanging them is no big deal.
