And are the people chasing the train providing funds for the operation? No offense to Mr. Painter and the others who chased (who certainly may have donated to the steamer's restoration), but if they're making their money for this trip largely from those who ride it then why make the aesthetics of the photographs taken of the train by non-paying chasers a priority?I do wish that I'd see more in the donation jar from those chasers that think it is their "right" to photograph an event like this. If you don't like the consist then don't friggin' show up. It was on several message boards that this type of consist would be running. Those of us who have put in countless unpaid hours & a few of our own dollars to make something like this happen know what I'm talking about. Personally I put something in the coal bucket even if I DO pay to attend or ride. I also try to patronize the locals for gas & food. |
