It seems to me there'd have to be something akin to a Form D or track warrant for both the tourist train and light engine in order for the diesel to be close enough to the steamer to continue movement in the case of CNJ 113 breaking down. If I were running a freight railroad and was now faced with the prospect of running a passenger train and light engine movement in the same track block I think I'd quail at the possibility of a collision between the two trains.And are the people chasing the train providing funds for the operation? No offense to Mr. Painter and the others who chased (who certainly may have donated to the steamer's restoration), but if they're making their money for this trip largely from those who ride it then why make the aesthetics of the photographs taken of the train by non-paying chasers a priority? |
