Some of the SNCF EMUs shown on this thread can run on both 1.5 kV DC and 25 kV 50 Hz AC. Which means, ironically, that NJT could have kept the old DL&W 3 kV DC if they had bought EMUs (or modified the Arrows) or gotten electric locos with such technology adaptations. But since NJT was too bizarre/cheap to even modify the Arrows to switch between 12 kV/25 Hz and 25 kV/60 Hz (that particular decision occurred under the liar and fraud Shirley DeLibero, who was more focused on automated announcements), none of their future decisions will include aught that make sense. |
