Public clambering can be quelled very easily buying a technique employed by one of the old time NYCTA schedule makers. Whenever a local politician would call to inquire about adding or increasing service, the S/M would simply reply that while it could be looked into, providing such an increase would jeopardize the existing fare structure. Nothing would ever be a heard about it again. |
