Why not build it from Jamaica (current Air Train station). Tracks make a right turn in addition to the left turn to JFK, ride above the Van Wyck over past Roosevelt Ave., then to LaG. The route isn't that much further, and gives a connection from LaG to JFK with a transfer at Jamaica. Someone coming from LI would have to travel the LIRR to Woodside, then backtrack to Willis Point. From the city, Penn Station has more options than the 7 line, and with East Side Access, Grand Central will be covered also. |
