Of course it was politically motivated, but it's probably more about his running for his next term as Governor than about potentially running for President.What it comes down to is a simple case of SUBURBS versus CITY. Cuomo has a suburban mindset and caters almost exclusively to his suburban base. He knew that suburbanites would never forgive him for shutting down Metro-North and LIRR while still allowing city residents to have any amount of subway service. Therefore, he had to order the underground sections closed as well. |
