There are very few residences along that stretch.That Connecting RR bridge is a huge hurdle. It appears that a track would fit on either outside flank of the GCP roadway between GCP and the service road right under the bridge. But such a placement would cause the tracks to run into the nearby cross-street overpasses at Steinway and 44th Streets. Possibly those overpasses could be relocated, but at great stress to local traffic. |
