From another message:

"I was simply commenting on the idea of rebuilding the area of the bellmouths so that the RBB could reach the express tracks without crossing the local tracks. I agree that it should just simply be an extension of a QB local to Rockaway Park. If there ends up being a need for a super express (which I think we will see) then that's another project, but it won't happen until the need proven."

On the upper level of the #2, #3, #4 & #5 trains railroad north of the Franklin Avenue station in Brooklyn, currently #2 trains bound for Flatbush Avenue take the track switch that veers off of the local track. The #5 trains bound for Flatbush Avenue have to cross from the express track to the local, and then use the same track switch as the above noted #2 train to the trek to Flatbush Avenue.

What is interesting is the wish to not create another situation like the one described above, while noting that rebuilding the track complex is gonna be a really tough project upon a very heavily traveled train pathway. Some things are really so much easier during the pre-building phase of a subway line and its extensions.

Imagine a middle track diverging route setup (like south 59th Street/CC) for the proposed RBB extension, plus all of the other diverging route/track setups for the Queens Blvd. That would make for a pretty complicated train pathway for the whole line.
