It was rebuilt from just east of Franklin to Atlantic....and then as you said, east of grant. It's too bad they couldn't somehow incorporate that section into an Atlantic subway using the LIRR. Using the cranberry tube and a subway connection to Flatbush Ave....and a connection around Franklin to the LIRR from the rebuilt portion of the Fulton El to Atlantic. If this was subway.....the Rockaway line also connecting to this subway at woodhaven. It seems like such a waste.....perfectly good rebuilt dual contract structure (built identically to the Broadway el, used for just about 20 years. Such a waste. |
