Thanks, & thanks for the picture - will see if I can find the image of a BMT controller.

I actually did get to ride the Q's, during the spring and early summer of '68, when someone told me they were still operating, I got myself down there within a couple of months. Took some B & W photos of them, which I can't share since I don't have a scanner at home.

I was on the final ERA trip the day after closure, in October '69. Took some color slides that day.

Unfortunately, missed the gate cars, they were still operating when I was eight years old (1958), but my Dad wasn't Brooklyn person, so he didn't know anything about them.

I was in the first grade when the C's were still operating. I like to think that if he'd known about them we'd have driven down from Queens Village (lived at intersection of Hillside & Springfield) to ride them.

His experience was with the west side IRT (he remembers the Hi-V locals) and the IND, parents married in '44 lived in NYC as my Dad finished Dental School till 1950 when he went into the service for Korea.

They lived on the upper west side, then down on 12th street - that's when my Dad got to take the Bluebirds once, to Eighth Ave. on the Canarsie Line.
