The idea being that the whole unit can come out for maintenance with a drop in replacement. When the components are in different locations (ceiling and underfloor) that can not happen. But the method the BL describes enabled a whole generation of cars to be retrofitted with A/C that were not originally built with it. It was also how earlier gen cars built with A/C were set up, before the advent of the package units. What the OP said was that the 4 corner vents were covered, wouldn't those be the ones left open, with the ones that run the length of the roof on each side being covered? That's why I didn't say anything regarding the 32s. |
