All the historic details you provide to us here on the board are so valuable. I hope you are writing them all down in a book somewhere for future reference. There are too many details of pre-war (or even pre-1960) operations that have gotten lost in time, due to not being documented in detail by the BOT, TA, or MTA, being relegated only to the memories of old timers (no, you're not old!) that may not be passed down once they pass on.

Like I've posted before, London's histories, are detailed "beyond belief" - see the London Underground Society's histories of the "COP" stock, unpainted original aluminum stock, and pictorial history (2 vols) of the Standard Tube stock.
