The track that used to exist just off the Babylon line was a siding. There was never a second track or passing siding between Malverne and Lakeview.There was never enough service on the line to require a passing siding. Even if the stretch between West Hempstead and Country Life Press were still intact and in frequent use the line would be fine with a single track and a two track station at West Hempstead or Hempstead Gardens for passing. |
