Sorry, but longitudinal seating in Chicago is an abomination before the Lord and George Krambles, a fact which CTA has tacitly acknowledged by going back to a much higher mix of transverse seating in the planned 7000 series. "IMO, the 5000s seating pattern would be useful on the Blue Line where seems like folks with luggage either take up an extra seat or block the aisles with bags. But doesn't look like 5000s will end up on the Blue anytime in the foreseeable future. |
