Usually when there is a Fast Track operation on the Queens Blvd line, the MTA ends both the M and R trains early, meaning that the Queens Blvd segments stop early.

In the case of the M-train, train service between 71st Avenue-Continental Avenue and Essex Street ends at about 10pm. Usually from that point onward the M-train would usually run from Myrtle Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue - its usual late night shuttle operation.

In the case of the R-train, train service from 71st Avenue - Continental Avenue and Whitehall Street ends early, say 10pm. Usually from that point onward, the R-train would usually run from 36th Street to 95th Street in Brooklyn only, its usual late night shuttle operation. The R-train Manhattan stations from R-train Canal Street south to Whitehall Street would be closed early. The Brooklyn segment of the R-train from Court Street to 95th Street becomes an open question, but that might stop running at 10pm as well. Why end that segment early is an open question.

On the M train unless there is something really interesting going on - a major G.O. - there's always service on the M-train segment from Myrtle Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue, with connecting J-train service to/from Essex Street.

Mike
