I've looked at that site. it's great!! But I think they made one mistake- the second picture, showing what they claimed is the passenger area after demolition, is incorrect.

Look at the angled footbridge- it goes northeasterly over 10th Avenue, just as they say. But the passenger station was actually between 10th and 9th- not 11th and 10th. That footbridge enabled a safe crossing of 10th Avenue ("Death Avenue"), which then had tracks on street level.

If you look at the NYC DOIT 1924 aerial photo, center it on the intersection of 9th Avenue and West 30th Street, you'll see the passenger station, and the footbridge- AND the transfer facility to the 9th Avenue El.

So- what they claim is the demolished passenger station was actually a freight yard, also clearly visible on the DOIT view to the northwest.

But they would appear to be right that the service lasted into the post WW1 period...
