But not Rikers Island...That one would stand out. No confusion there!:)

Riker's Island was also interesting because of the ferry service which ran there as well as the nearby North Brother's Island. North Brother's Island was the location of Riverside Hospital and the retirement home of "Typhoid" Mary Mallon. It was also where the burning "General Slocum" ran finally ran aground.

In Jamaica Bay we have Broad Channel Island as well as the two man-made island built by the TA for rapid transit service to the Rockaways. They were the "Embankment" and Sand Island.

Notice the sneaky way that I kept this on topic.
