"what about tourists?"It isn't so much NYCT but the parent MTA that is doing this. Easy - they get screwed - unless they happen to find a dicarded card (that hasn't expired) and know enough to do the refill option. When the MTA first brought up the idea of the surcharge it was estimated that it costs about 5¢ to produce per card. |
