I agree but to the MTA's way of thinking, a small surcharge would not be enough incentive for people to continue using/refilling the same card.Besides they will make money (or so they think) from all the new cards purchased. Of course what will happen now is that any advertiser who would buy space on the back of a MetroCard or both sides is going to think twice about doing so because the potential "audience" will be reduced considerably (and if they don't know that maybe they should be told). |
