The reason for the S/B backups was that when Chrystie was first implemented QJs terminated at BBC and Ds went through to Stl requiring both services to Xover N/O BBC. Apparently the so called TA planners forgot that the IRT West Side services were realigned in 1959 to eliminate just that problem N/O 96 St. The following pick, the services were adjusted so that QJs went through to Stl and Ds terminated at BBC while operating as Brighton expresses and went through to Stl only when operating as lcls. |
