And in the 1920's the North Shore Line's outbound Eastern Limited, starting at Dorchester on the Jackson Park Branch, made one and a half circuits of the Loop, so as to receive Milwaukee-bound connecting passengers from New York Central at LaSalle Street Station. The Eastern Limited would have traversed the Wabash and Lake legs of the Loop twice. One of the first things I will do when Sears finally delivers my time machine is go back to 1925 or so and book a parlor seat in the observation car of one of the North Shore limiteds, preferably while these were still running over the Shore Line Route (which I never got a chance to ride)!
