The idea is the line absorbs the Franklin shuttle and also the weekend (M) shuttle while at the same time having numerous transfer points between lines going to Manhattan (plus the (G) in Brooklyn). Current (M) riders for instance could take the new line to Botanic Garden and use that to transfer to the 2/3/4/5, which right now would not be possible as an example.I suspect this new line would be surprisingly very popular, especially during the summer when riders in Queens can use it to get to Coney Island without going through Manhattan. |
