No, the QJ was definitely gone by 1973. I lived in Urbana, IL from June 1971 to June 1974, but came to NYC in the summers and at Christmas (and one year during Easter). Summer of 1972, QJ still operated to Stillwell "normal hours" (Mon-Fri 6 AM-8 PM), all other times to Broad St. M operated to either Broad or Chambers normal hours, other times between Metropolitian and Myrtle-Broadway. KK ran from 168 St or Eastern Pkwy via Chrystie cut to 57/6 rush hours only. By the summer of 1973, when I arrived from Illinois, the QJ had become the J and ran 24/7 to Broad, M ran via the Montague rat hole to Stillwell via Brighton normal hours, and the KK became the K and only ran from Eastern Pkwy rush hours. The K went away in late August 1976 w/o replacement, the same time that the EE was eliminated, IIRC at that same time, the CC was extended rush hours only to Euclid Av or Rockaway Park, the A now ran express in Brooklyn rush hours, and the E terminated at WTC 24/7. Sometime in the 80s, the M was moved to the West End, ran to Bay Parkway rush hours, other times during normal hours to 9 Av, and evenings and weekends to Myrtle-Broadway only. Hope that clears things up :)
