Since the letter "M" indicates Myrtle, K would not have been appropriate. When the threads about combining the M with the V first started appearing on this forum, I advocated A service from jamaica Ctr to Ctl via Chrystie rather that a Met to Ctl service but that was because I felt that crewing would be easier for a service that had both ends of the line approximately 12 min away from each other. It would have also given Archer Av passengers a direct ride to the 6 Av corridor. It could have conceivably been assigned the letter "K" or used the letter "V." Either one would have been acceptable and the "Z" could have been retired. |
