I am not interested in spending state money in pandering to the memories of some Baby Boomers, but I have no qualms in pushing the architecture further into the future...It depends on the location. I am not opposed to the future of architectural design; however I am opposed when it significantly destroys a specific area. Eastern Parkway closest to GAP has one of the most grotesque, hideous and disgusting buildings ever to tarnish such a beautiful parkway, a "modern" building directly across from the Central branch of the Brooklyn Public Library with no character and no soul. This building does not blend in with the rest of the pre-war buildings, imagine constructing a building like this in Tudor City? |
