Don't tell turtle though. :)Last hops of the normal traceroute to here are as follows: ---- 13 0.ae2.NY5030-BB-RTR2.verizon-gni.NET (152.63.18.74) 26.355 ms 0.xe-1-1-1.NY325-BB-RTR2.verizon-gni.net (152.63.1.206) 23.541 ms 25.147 ms 14 * * * 15 static-74-102-27-12.nwrknj.fios.verizon.net (74.102.27.12) 37.300 ms 34.746 ms 37.734 ms ---- When the "nwrknj.fios.verizon.net" portion (15 above) appears, then it means that the connection is getting is getting all the way to Uncle Larry's modem. So either there's cabling problems or the machine is DOWN. However, more often than not during the downtime, the LAST hop that worked was "NY325-BB-RTR2.verizon-gni.net" and that router is in New York CITY. When that's the last hop that responds, and nothing out of Newark at all, then it's VERIZON that's down. Stuff it, turtle, show us YOUR research. Oh yeah, all mouth, no research. |
