Even if you could get nonstops that are directly competitive with air shuttles timewise (but not with going from city center to city center), they'd still not be significantly faster than trains that make five or six stops en route. Getting average speeds up to 110 mph is more than sufficient, and would be a great improvement over the current 82-mph average speed. |
