I remember the groan they made as they pulled away from a station. I mostly rode them on the LL in the later years, but also remember them on the Brighton local, Sea Beach & West End express, and the Franklin Shuttle. What I never knew until I started reading the interwebs was that both the shuttle and the Canarsie line had experimental cars on them BEFORE they were replaced by standards, cars that I never rode. And also on the shuttle were the R34, cars that I did get to ride, but this was after the standards. |
