And the other problem is, if the Jets and Giants suddenly started calling themselves "New Jersey", the Eagles could have had serious concerns about losing a significant chunk of their south Jersey audience to teams actually called "New Jersey," if not immediately in later generations (and Philly of course is much closer to New York City than Buffalo is). |
