The big argument against this is because it's an 'unfunded mandate'. So what? The "so what" in this case that because of the knee-jerk reaction and the quick deadline, important projects that are already process have to halt in their tracks to build this system in time. Perhaps if the federal gov't had to pay an additional portion for each requirement they impose, they'd think of the pros and cons of each policy they come up with before it's implemented. It's already bad enough the federal gov't continues to try to reduce funding to the various agencies... |
