If they don't do major construction where it might be beneficial to have 3 straight days to work without interruption over Presidents Day Weekend, when do you suggest they do that work? The reality is while some people do have to go to work on federal holidays, it is still far fewer than the number who need to get to work today, and I can't think of many transit agencies that run weekday service on Presidents Day (TCAT in Ithaca, NY is the only one that immediately comes to mind, Ride On in Montgomery County, MD operated a weekday schedule on Presidents Day for a few years and now operates a modified weekday schedule in which service is provided on all routes during their usual spans of service for a weekday but at decreased frequency). |
