I think they will have to use the Broadway-63rd St. one way or another connection during the 6th Ave. FastTrack, since the 6th Ave. line is to be closed, but the 63rd St. line isn't.

Or maybe not. The announcements say the 6th Ave. line is to be closed between 59 St.-Columbus Circle and W. 4th St. Possibly, the F could run from Queens to 57th St.-6th Ave., relay just south of the station, and return to Queens.

I expect that D trains from the Bronx would switch to the local track at 59th St., run down the 8th Ave. local, then switch back to 6th Ave. at W. 4th St. and run down the CULVER line, replacing the F. (That's a real "retro" operation.)

Meanwhile, West End D trains from Brooklyn would run their normal route to Broadway-Lafayette, discharge their passengers, and relay north of the station (reversing direction on the northbound express track and switching to the southbound track on the single crossover switch between those tracks).

The only problem would be one of nomenclature, since the Culver and West End services would both be designated "D" trains. Maybe they could assign some other letter to the West End service, or maybe just rely on station announcements to distinguish them.
