I wasn't thinking.I should have known that. Back in 1960 or 61, my Dad took the 20th Century from GCT to Chicago in February because he needed to be there and didn't want to take a chance on weather grounding flights. After he boarded my Mom took me up to the front so I could look at the engine. The fireman picked me up and lifted me into the cab where the engineer let me pull the cord to sound the horn. You never saw a more excited kid in all your life! |
